This year three teams played in the Wellington Secondary School's Competition. One senior, one fourth and one third form team.
All teams improved throughout the season with many players showing some promise for future years especially in the junior teams. These included W. Haanstra, S. Cullen, T. Christie, and C. Salter.

During May a young senior team of 9 represented St Patrick's in the New Zealand Secondary School Water Polo Championships held in Wellington. The team came seventh over all and are hopeful of doing better next time.

This year we had two senior and two junior teams in the Wellington Secondary School's Competition, and all improved through the season, with W. Haanstra, J. Sinclair, J Treder, R. Thurston, B. Salter, S. Wallis and E. Meachen as promising players for the future.
The Junior A Team's only loss were to their competition's winners Wellington College and the runners up Rongotai College. They lost their semi-final to Wellington College 5-4.
Last year our Seniors came tenth out of ten in the National Secondary School Championships. This year we improved to eighth, with a still very "junior" senior team almost all of whom will be back next year one year stronger.
Our Juniors were also mostly very "junior". In November, with 11 our our team still 3rd formers, the Juniors travelled to the North Island Championships in Auckland where they won three and lost three games. Again, most of our juniors will be one year stronger and still junior next year. Promising players include R Thurston, P Barron, E. Meachen, S. Wallis, and A. Taylor.

The Junior A Team were third in their competition, and seniors team finished thrid in the Wellington A Grade competition.
8th in 1993, this year our senior team competed again in the national secondary school championships in Rotorua during the second week of the May school holidays.
First the team played in a section of 5 teams, the results:
v Sacred Heart Lost 10-7
v Rotorua Boy's Won 15-5
v Liston Won 17-2
v Wellington College Lost 8-3
In post section play:
v John Paul Won 10-7
v Auckland Grammar Won 10-7
Placed fifth out of eleven teams. Jason Sinclair and William Haanstra were selected in the tournament team and William was selected in the New Zealand Schoolboys team. Fore this trip the team had provisions from Ms Haanstra and Mrs Skogstad, and Mr Wallis travelled with the team as Manager.
In November our juniors - in uniforms provided for by a grant from the Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust - were among 13 teams competing in the North Island Championships in Auckland.

The junior A team finished 5th in the local competition missing out on the semi-finals by just 1 point. The junior b and C teams finished 7th and 10th.
The Senior B team was unbeaten right through to the final where they finished runners-up to Wellington College - the team's only loss in Wellington in the last two years.
The Senior A team finished finished 3rd in the Wellington competition this year, all all excepting captain Jason Sinclair are returning next year. At the National Secondary School Championships the team finished 7th out of ten teams.
Congratulations to Sean Wallis who has been selected for the New Zealand Schoolboys team to play a 3 match test series against the Australian Schoolboys in Sydney in December.

This year we had two senior and one junior team in the Wellington Secondary School's Competition, and all improved through the season.
The Junior A Team finished fifth in the local competition. My thanks to Edwin Meachen and Sean Wallis who coached the junior players.
The Senior B team had a good season but unfortunately they were beaten in the final by Wellington College so they finished runners up for this year.
The Senior A team finished second in the Wellington Competition this year.
The next tournament for the seniors was the Nationals held in April in Wellington. The team was hoping to improve on its seventh placing from the North Island Championships.

The Senior A Team finished 2nd in the Wellington Competition this year.
At the National Secondary School Championships the Senior A team finished 4th out of twelve teams. This was the best result ever from a St Pat's team at these nationals. Four players were selected in the New Zealand Schoolboy's squad. They were Richard Thurston, Edwin Meachen, Matthew Teder and Sean Wallis.
Congratulations got to Richard Thurston who was voted most valuable player of the national tournament.

At the National Secondary School's Championship the team finished 10th out of twelve teams. Two players were selected in the New Zealand Schoolboy's squad. They were Ben Tait and Huw Lloyd Davies.
